How long have been on here for and where did you come from?

Post by Sam_Brown »

I remember posting way back on the 606 boards when they got shut down and Rubi set up the forum. I'm assuming most came from there?

From 606 boards, through the Saints Forum and onto this board.

The La La League needed a Forum base and the saints board, with ISF, Jasper and others, made a bed for it while 606 was dying. Within a few months, I was invited in through a few people and the La La League found its new and final home shortly afterwards.

From the 606 forum. I don't post on here as much these days cos of the time difference but I still lurk in the shadows!

I came from 606. Wasn't there another board between 606 and this one? Or was that just Rubi in another guise? I am sure I remember this one shutting down and starting again at some point, but I might be imagining it. Someone needs to write a history before we all disappear.

Been through the 606 days and the Saints forum and then to here, user name has remained unchanged. 606 was great, real good banter between all teams and i remember the impromptu parties very fondly !

Came from not 606. There was another board. I use this site for chat I know it's a pompey board, but I honestly couldn't give a stuff about football these days, it's just a cash cow. My first love us F1 and, sadly, it's going the same way :(

Aye, there was one. Called "My Sports Talk" or something similar. That then disappeared pretty sharpish and Rubi set this one up in 2006.

606, but before that I was in the Pompey Anorak Brigade when that started as one of the first message boards (maybe even THE first?).

Before that, I used to write some of the stuff in Frattonise and sell it outside FP on match days. Only 50p to you, mush! Dave "Bunky" Bowers, who does commentary on Express FM, was joint editor with Steve Woodhead.

Some other 606 members I recall...mostly because they were Saints fans I was goading (although Widley Chimes obviously wasn't a Ripples boy):

Ray Terris
Itchen Bridge
KING S.F.C
Gary Whackett
Widley Chimes
Mister Chappel-End
SFC Chick
Frank Cousins

There must be others you lot can recall. Have a feeling Frank Cousins died actually....not too sure though.

I came from FF in 2008 mainly because I wanted something a bit different and found it in the La La League which I thoroughly enjoy - although not that good at it. Mainly a Lurker in the shadows on the boards and I enjoy reading them.

Came on here in 2006 , probably about the same time Kanu signed for us. Was never on 606 . This was the first message board that I discovered and I enjoy the craic on here albeit that it isn't as lively as it once was. Don't post as much as I used to as I feel that what I have to say has all been said before and generally I don't have any new fresh alternative viewpoint to add but will always chip in if the need arises.

DJ , I used to play darts with Dave "Bunky" Bowers at the Tramway Arms and I also know Steve Woodhead from Wingfield House.

I followed this hottie from 606..

Those were the days, then of course we went to the gardeners forum for some in depth conversations about cockchafers before Sir Rubi invited us all here.
