Re: John Mousinho?
It is of course a risk for both the club and Mr. Mousinho.
Appreciate that he has zero experience as a head coach, but if you were to gamble on someone that hasn't managed before then he probably fits bill. Seems highly articulate, has leadership quality having captained plenty of sides, and has spent most of his career in league one.
Can see this disappointing most fans, but even the elite clubs hire first time managers (Barca: Pep, Xavi), Arsenal (Arteta) etc. Sometimes you have to give people a chance. I would personally take that risk over a mediocre experienced lower league manager all day.

Well Neil Allen seems to think it's happening.

Re: John Mousinho?
The snooze is pretty certain it’s happening
I’m conflicted on one hand only 18 months as Player/Coach at Oxford but years of experience of league one and if needed next year league two
Either it’s a bold imaginative appointment or a last throw of the dice because the club is too toxic at the moment for an established coach to risk it
Either way if true let’s give him a fair chance and get behind him and the team starting on Saturday by canceling this ridiculous protest idea
Anyway as he still plays give us extra defensive cover for the same wage
Neil Allen now saying we have yet to approach Oxford for permission to talk to him but expects that to be a formality, so it’s still not a done deal

Re: John Mousinho?
Neil Allen on twitter saying the club gave 2nd interviews to Foster and Manning but have decided to give the job to John Mousinho.
I'd wish success to anyone appointed to lead Pompey but choosing a complete novice to the role is ....shall we say; Bold

Re: John Mousinho?
Its the way the lower leagues work at the moment. A preference for young, unproven managers/coaches but who have direct experience with today's game and bringing on the youngsters who have been weaned on it.

so either he is the only horse in the race and we are going to offer him what ever he asks for...
or....
we have already spoken to him and are going to be charged with misconduct for an illegal approach
