Not true in Carlisle's case, they have rich Yank owners iirc.

Re: Different Approach To Transfer Window: Bolton vs Pompey

I think the observation that some of these signings are to bolster positions because of injury is an interesting and true observation. Would MPH have been a target if Anjorin and Robertson were fit ....probably not. Allowing teams to address areas of weakness in their squad or to make changes to th...

Re: Different Approach To Transfer Window: Bolton vs Pompey

All things are not always equal but I find it interesting that Pompey have signed five players in this window (6 if you count Martin re-signing until the end of the season) and have spent an estimated £700k doing so. For this money Pompey sign a GK in Macey under the end of the season, McIntrye as ...

Re: Callum Lang & Tom Mcintyre & Owen Moxon

Add Owen Moxon to the list. Looking at his stats. Moxon plays central midfield for Carlisle so unless that's as a 10 then we are I think well covered there are we not Not with permanent signings we're not. Not if he's not a 10 otherwise we have Pack, Morrell, Lowery, Stevenson and Devlin as central...

Re: Sparkes should we keep playing him?

Ref Sparkes, he's our leading "assister" iirc. That surely has to be taken into account overall, is he as good a defender as Oggie-nope. Is he a better attacking fullback-yep.

Re: Leyton Orient

I vaguely remember Leyton orient beating us years ago - maybe a cup game that seemed a bit of a low and a turning point or maybe it’s just old age but anyway let’s hope that is some sort of turning point and incentive to get some players in and push on - as others have said the signings will say a ...

Re: St Evenage

Thanks f**k for that!! Stevenage are a horrible side. Deserved red cards, terrible challenge by N Thompson, players should have words with him. We fell into the trap of playing the way Stevenage wanted us to in the second half, should have played our football instead of clearing it up the pitch tim...

Can only echo what others have said, doing a superb job @ Wolves following a similarly good job @ Bournemouth. His stock must be rising with each passing week.

Re: What is Yengi worth?

Worth remembering Yengi is 24, he's a late starter. He was excellent last night &@ Northampton. He's a real handful.

Re: Bolton THE BIG MATCH

Best team performance of the season so far I reckon. Great win. Yengi's workrate is insane tbh. But my Motm was Raggettino. Absolutely faultless. I think he gave away the free kick that led to the miss from Charles, I'm not sure it was a free kick mind - probably why Charles missed. Very sporting o...

Jack Froggatt
Jimmy Dickinson
Dougie Reid
Peter Harris
Len Phillips
Phil Gunter
Guy Whittingham
Alan Knight
Ben Close
Jack Whatmough
Reg Flewin (I think he was a Pompey boy?)

That would make a good, hard team!!
Alas Whittingham wasn't born around here. Midlands iirc.
