Re: The Doom & Gloom Cafe
I understand that we were trying to make the pitch bigger, but we're we really struggling with that? Harness and Curtis we're playing pretty well and wide for most of the second half and the full backs were pushing on. Evans looked shattered and to a lesser extent so did Marquis. It was crying out f...

Well it didn't work....BlueinPLtwenty wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 10:23 pm the idea was to have three at the back and release the two full backs to be out and out wingers
What appeared obvious to me was Evans and Marquis was shattered, Evans should have been replaced with Cannon.

Re: The Doom & Gloom Cafe
I think we are entering another season where Kenny doesn't know his best eleven, the squad is good but the team doesn't pick itself. I think this was the case for much of last season too. I'd like to see something change when we make subs, for example change the shape - on Saturday we were chasing t...

Walkes was the same against Brum, couldn't give it to Harness.

Re: Set Piece Delivery
It wasn't that bad yesterday, but we didn't trouble their keeper enough, much the same as big parts of last season.
Do we have too many similar midfielders? Are we still in for Herbie Kane? Tuesday I'd like to see a couple of changes.

The full backs just didn't get past the wingers often enough.

Woeful today.
Anton Walkes needs to learn to pass the ball to where a player is running... Not where he was stood.

Re: Fratton Park
I heard that and thought if they are talking to the railway authorities, assuming network rail it's either about changes to the railway line and or station or some land they own in the vicinity of Fratton Park. I have a feeling that they will want to do more than just improve the ground... When you ...

Re: Birmingham
Harrison impressed me last night.
I'd be tempted to play Harness in the middle and Harrison out wide right.
Cannon played well in fits and spurts, but being at home against a newly promoted side I'd go with that.
I'd also play close and Naylor after last night.
Nice problems to have.

It's not included, but it pretty much adjoins it so just got me thinking.

Lakeside North Harbour
Been bought by the council... Wonder if this means there is scope for some redevelopment up there and opens the opportunity for King George Playing fields again?
Or if it's just being bought as a property deal (why do local authorities insist on doing these?)

Re: Well, not quite the start I'd hoped for
Early days yet so not too worried, the selection confused me a little though. I didn't expect Evans to be near the starting 11 this season. Not with the attacking players we have signed. From listening to the game it was fairly obvious that for all the ball we had we didn't really create a lot, the ...
