Re: Arsenal or Bournemouth

I love the way Pompey fans still chant "Quashie Quashie" when a shot hits row Z. Most of our fans, let alone visiting fans, wouldn't have any idea what it's about. To make matters worse, we actually chant "Quarzie" not "Quashie".

Re: Arsenal or Bournemouth

We're also the only team not based on mainland Britain. Can we have another 250K for that?

RubiconCSL wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2020 5:20 pm Brilliant news. I guess it doesn't necessarily means he stays, but if not, we at least can get a decent price for him. But if we can get into the second tier, why ouldn't he stay? Happy days.

Re: Sunderland.

It was his end product that was frustrating yesterday. His crosses and shots were consistently wide of the target. That's true, but in other respects he had a great match. The Sunderland defence were really troubled by him (as well as Curtis and later Harrison) and he was one of the reasons that Su...

Re: Huge game tomorrow

I fancy Pompey and Sunderland for an each way double, first and second in the division, ie both teams automatically promoted. Anyone know what the odds might be?

And yes it is a big, big match tomorrow.

Well, hello Mr Jones and welcome to this board. It wouldn't surprise me at all if you turned out to be a Roy Harper fan. :thumb

I didn't know about the wartime cup. We learn something every day.

Re: Barnsley

Barnsley were so poor that Raggett looked a decent player!

But we did play well and with confidence and the crowd were the best they've been for a long time despite the rather diminished attendance. Happy days!

I vaguely recall windscreen washers becoming compulsory around 1971. Blimey! that's nearly 50 years ago.

We stayed in the Doubletrees too. If we go back to MK I'd probably do it again. Dinner in the Marco Pierre White on the second floor was pretty good too.

Re: MK Dons

Anyone know why Harness was playing in the centre and not on the wing? He looked awful there: his usual immaculate touch deserted him. Although the pace of the game was very slow, I thought we looked the better of two tired teams in a dull match until we conceded the first goal. Then we seemed to lo...

Re: John Marquis

I think Marquis has been a consistent goal scorer for Donnies because of his relationship with Coppinger. We needed to buy both of them. We have previously had players of our own like that: Whittingham who was fed by Paul Walsh and couldn't repeat that amazing performance when we sold him, and more ...
