Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
This sounds a bit paranoid to me. We have a huge knife crime problem in London, if it was made easy for everyone to purchase a knife then the problem wouldn't reduce, it would exacerbate. I actually like America but would have reservations about visiting again purely down to the amount of shootings...

Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
You make some good points, particularly regarding online bullying - but that's a global issue. Nobody is shooting up schools anywhere else in the world. Does that make Americans just naturally more psychotic than other nations? Of course not, but ready access to guns and ammunition makes the abilit...

Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
You'll know this far better than me being over the other side of the pond, but isn't part of the problem how much money the NRA donate to political candidates on both sides (primarily the Republicans in recent years, but also some Democrats?) It must make trying to put in place some sensible form o...

Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
My veiw is that the amendment to bear arms is an archaic piece of legislation that is out of sync with the modern world. When the amendment was put in place it was commiserate with the time in which they lived. The right to protect yourself in a largely lawless time. Attacks from natives, wild anim...

Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
People can’t have it both ways Come on. There is a massive difference between what’s happened with the likes of George Flloyd and being called out to an active shooter at a school. To try and suggest they are anyway comparable is just gross. The effects of the attacks on police out here over the pa...

Re: Indefensible and unforgivable
First and foremost, let us consider that we were not there, many of the journalists that wrote these reports may not have been there and it is possible a narrative is leading the charge, not all the facts. There will be a report as to why the police took so long, and often, new facts come from diges...

Re: Who wanted the 1970s back?
I think it has more to do with a total lack of discipline and the modern mindset. Discipline comes from the fear of the ramifications of breaking the rules. I think the 1970's problems had much to do with the rebellious streak that ran through the youth of this country. A time when the authoritaria...

Re: Redevelopment update
Thanks for adding that video Neil.
With the North / South stand improvements (plus standing area? did I hear recently). What is our expected attendance for next season likely to be?

Don't you mean 90 degrees....180 would leave it as it were.Betelgeuse wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:00 pm All looks positive, just wish they'd have the vision to turn the ground 180 to build a 30k plus capacity stadium.

I think it will be a dour 0 - 0 for 85 mins...then Sunderland getting mouthy with the ref, leading to a dubious decision on a Wednesday goal in the 89th

Re: It’s a strange game.
Was it just me, or do Man City have some cause to feel hard done by. They had players diving, acting, poking and kicking at the Man City team....then get a yellow card for Stirling for a fair tackle. Plus after that card, the treatment took 5 minutes and only 3 minutes were added.... Tough luck on M...
